Spathiphyllum is a plant popularly known as "Girl's Happiness" that has fluttering lance-shaped leaves with prominent leaf veins. The leaves are on long petioles, slightly bent and are about 30 cm long. The flowers are elliptical in shape, white in color surrounded by white elegant bracts pointed at the top. Spathiphyllums like semi-shady and shady positions and plenty of moisture. This tropical plant likes regular watering. Proper watering is done by immersing the pot in water and after ten minutes, remove the pot and drain it well (principle of watering orchids). Light and airy soil is especially good for them. The ideal temperature for growing spathiphyllum is between 18-22°C. It blooms in the period March-September, abundantly and constantly, changing the flowers. It is preferable to sprinkle the leaves with water because it is very sensitive to lack of moisture. During flowering plant is fed once a week, in winter every two to three weeks. When watering, it is necessary to keep the flowers dry, otherwise they will darken and change color.
